Birmingham Groves players and coaches pose with their MHSAA Region 12 boys tennis championship trophy on Wednesday.

   Division 2 No. 4-ranked Birmingham Groves won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Region 12 boys tennis championship on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at North Farmington.

    Groves won the title with 29 points. No. 5-ranked Birmingham Seaholm was second with 26 points.

   The Falcons swept the four singles flights with Nolen Kovan (No. 1), RJ

Carrell (No. 2), Michael Liss (No. 3), and Jake Rosenwasser (No. 4) winning championships.

   The Groves team of Dylan Brown and Mitch Greenberger won the No. 1 doubles title.

   Seaholm won the remaining three doubles flights with the teams of Owen O'Neill and Zane Chutkow (No. 2), Alex George and Alex Lewis (No. 3), and Ambarish Patel and Grant Supancich (No. 4) winning championships.

   The MHSAA Division 2 championship is scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Oct. 15-16, in the Holland area.
