Bloomfield Hills won the MHSAA Division 1, District 14 boys tennis championship on Thursday.

   Division 1 No. 7-ranked Bloomfield Hills swept Lake Orion and Rochester to win the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1, District 14 championship on Thursday, Oct. 8, at Bloomfield Hills.

   Bloomfield Hills defeated Lake Orion 8-0 in the semifinals and Rochester 8-0 in the final.

   Singles winners for Bloomfield Hills in the final were No. 1 Noah Roslin (3-6, 6-3, 7-5), No. 2 Daniel Stojanov (6-0, 6-1), No. 3 Toni Vasile (6-3, 6-1) and No. 4 Lucas Soloman (6-0, 6-0).

   Doubles winners for the Black Hawks were No. 1 Michael Lee and Max Nosanchuk (6-1, 6-2), No. 2 Andrew Chen and Merrick Chernett (6-1, 6-2), No. 3 Josh Balan and Gus Berger (6-0, 6-1), and No. 4 Drew Davis

 

 

and Noah Behrendt (6-2, 6-1).

   With the win, Bloomfield Hills advances to the MHSAA finals on Oct. 15-16 at Novi. The finals will not be played in the traditional tennis tournament format. The finals will be played over two days with teams playing in dual meets. Teams will be seeded and the top-seeded team will face the 16th seed, the second-seeded team will face the 15th seeded team, and so on. The round of 16 will be played in the morning on Oct. 15 and the quarterfinals will be played in the afternoon. The semifinals will be played the morning of Oct. 16 and the final will be played at 4 p.m. on Oct. 16. The No. 1 singles finals will be played on Oct. 17.
