Ann Arbor Greenhills players and coaches pose with their MHSAA regional championship trophy on Thursday.

   Division 4 No. 1-ranked Ann Arbor Greenhills won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Region 27 boys tennis championship on Thursday, Oct. 11, at Greenhills.

   Greenhills swept all eight flights, winning 24 points. No. 4-ranked Jackson Lumen Christi and No. 7 Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard tied for second at 11 points each. No. 10 Grosse Ile was fourth with 10 points. All four teams advance to the MHSAA Division 4 finals on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 19-20 at Kalamazoo College.

   In singles, Greenhills’ Sahil Deenadayalu (No. 1), Kaan Oral (No. 2), Mert Oral (No. 3), and Taha Zirapury (No. 4) won titles.

 

 

   The Greenhills’ teams of Trey Feldeisen and Henry Branch (No. 1), Drake Rosenberg and Joey Formicola (No. 2), Nathan Rosenberg and Finn Feldeisen (No. 3), and Harrison Li and Alex Schwendeman (No. 4) won doubles titles.

   Greenhills looks to claim the MHSAA Division 4 championship for the first time since 2015.

   The Gryphons were Division 4 runner-up to Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett the past two years. Greenhills won eight straight titles from 2008 to 2015 and have won 10 titles overall under head coach Eric Gajar.
